Personal Safes
Defining a personal safe is somewhat subjective since the primary purpose of any safe is to secure your valuables, and aside from the size limitation, your valuables can pretty much be secured in any type of safe.
For the sake of argument, however, personal safes would most likely be considered any type of smaller sized safe, perfect for holding some of your smaller personal belongings.
Technically this would include some home safes, office safes, and even hidden safes, with perhaps a few note worthy differences. For one, personal safes are much smaller than normal safes, making them lighter and often lacking some safety features, such as fire and water resistance, but this also makes them a lot less expensive.
Below you will find a few examples of personal safes:
Closet Safes
Closet safes are small home safes that fit nicely into your closet: out of the way and hidden from view. They can be bolted down or not, but if you know where you’d like to keep it indefinitely, then bolting it down is an extremely proactive way to combat any burglars from simply walking off with the entire safe. They are usually pretty light in comparison to other home safes.
Money Safes
Money is in the category of ‘small personal belongings’ and you could definitely stash your cash in any small safe. Another way to go is with a cash box. The trey and other compartments make it easy to separate and organize your money. If you’re worried about the security of a cash box, you can always lock it up in a larger safe!
Jewelry Safes
Jewelry also falls into the category of ‘small personal belongings’ and securing your jewelry and money in a closet safe, or any other small safe, is always an option, but throwing your jewelry into a safe along with everything else isn’t exactly the best way to handle your jewelry either. Another way to go is to get a jewelry trey, or other type of security box, and lock that into a larger safe.
Laptop Safes
Laptops are becoming more and more popular as the years go by, and since a lot of important information is stored on a laptop, not to mention the value of the laptop itself, there are many reasons you would want to secure yours. Laptops are mobile by their very nature, so there are many instances when a passerby could find an opportunity to steal one.
Laptop safes are about the size of a laptop and usually come with a security cable to secure it to one location and a handle for easy transport. While these safes were designed with laptops in mind, they are also very useful for securing cash, credit cards, passports, and other important documents.
